StudioSTL Write and Shine

StudioSTL helps students discover, develop, and celebrate their individual voices through writing.

Mission

StudioSTL is dedicated to empowering youth, ages 6-18, through writing, publishing and performance opportunities. Writers and mentors lead out-of-the-box in-school, after- school, weekend and summer programs at our writing studio, a creative, safe place for self-expression. We believe that writing skills and a literary toolbox - whether for fun, for school, in personal and professional life - are indispensable, lifelong gifts.

Vision

We envision a world where all youth embrace the power of their individual voices and are seen, valued and heard in their community.

MicroFICTION at U.City High!

Thanks to our friends at the Saigh Foundation and the extraordinary English teachers at U.City High, St. Louis teen writers will soon become PUBLISHED authors! Thanks to a partnership with Washington University, Department of English/Creative Writing and Mr. David Schuman's "Voices of Children" undergrad writing class, StudioSTL mentors will work with U. City teens at least once a week to explore themes of perserverance and conflict through fiction writing. We couldn't be more proud!
